As a medical technologist specializing in STDs, my journey with the Lookmai Project is deeply rooted in the understanding that sex work is a primary source of livelihood for many transgender individuals in Thailand. The unfortunate reality is that society's rejection and discrimination against transgender people often force them into this profession. The legal classification of sex work as illegal only compounds the challenges they face, affecting their financial stability, access to healthcare, and human rights.

A profound hope for change fuels my involvement in this project. While the ultimate goal is to transform sex work into a legal and respected profession, our immediate focus is on uplifting and empowering transgender sex workers. We aim to equip them with the knowledge and confidence to assert their rights and dignity. Through our efforts, we strive to shed light on their struggles, promote education, and garner societal support.

Every step we take brings us closer to success. The more people become aware of the issues transgender sex workers face, the stronger our collective voice becomes. I hope that, together, we can dismantle discriminatory norms, challenge unjust laws, and pave the way for a more inclusive and compassionate future.
